Pivot Bruno Cezar da Silva Moreira, Bruninho, is set to become the new offensive benchmark of Azkar Lugo. The Brazilian striker, at 27, comes from Anapolis Goias (Brazil), but has already played in two of the strongest leagues in Europe (Portugal and Russia) and faces the challenge of succeeding in Spain.
He trained and played in Sao Jose, Minas and Atletico Mineiro before going to Portugal, where his performances in the three seasons at Fundao opened the doors to CSKA Moscow of Russia and now it´s the turn of the Spanish Primera Division. "I see myself as a pivot with different characteristics, because I have mobility and I score often," said Bruninho.
"I talked to former Azkar players like Marcelo or Fernandinho and they spoke highly of the club. I come with the aim of providing more things to Azkar Lugo and I have references of the Spanish competition because I kept up with it when I played in Russia and Portugal. I know I´m coming to Azkar Lugo to grow, "said the new player, who will finish this season with an option for another season.
"The arrival of Bruninho adapts to the idea that the coaching staff had and he fits that player profile for that last quarter of the pitch, for the last few meters, we needed a pivot who likes to be mobile, who is near the penalty area and has that bit of aggressiveness that we missed in some games, a player who dominates both legs and a player who competes well," said the coach of Azkar Lugo, Diego Rios.
